Van Herreweghe

Beersel (Belgium)
Meat processing company Van Herreweghe is a well-known wholesale meat supplier, specialised in cutting fresh pork. In the middle of 2014, Van Herreweghe invested in brand new cutting rooms and refrigerated rooms, following the strictest CE standards for food production. Decades of experience ensured that our client was well aware of the fact that only the best materials, products and infrastructure would do for the new site. That was the main reason why they chose isomasters (previously Isocab-Isobar).

Clean and solid execution

For aesthetical but mainly hygienic reasons, isomasters advised to build with flat IND panels. The panels retain dirt and bacteria to a minimum and are very maintenance-friendly. Furthermore, flat panels can be easily repaired in case of damage. The panels are aesthetically very pleasing and provide a meticulous finish and level of cleanliness.

The IND wall and ceiling panels with a PIR insulated core have a B-s1,d0 fire performance. As the panels are installed in a damp cooled environment which is cleaned daily with disinfectant and water, isomasters advised CLEANsafe 55 coatings in RAL 9010. This coating is a chemically inert colaminated PET film and polyester paint, applied to pre-treated steel plate. The coating is ideal for the food sector (FOODsafe), is resistant to stains and fungus, has an excellent resistance to chemicals and damp, and is maintenance-friendly thanks to the smooth surface. You can find more information about the maintenance of the coatings on the Downloads page.
In total, 5,000 m² of panels were installed for the cutting rooms and refrigerated rooms.

Our experience has taught us to only consider the best and most robust doors for our meat company. We analysed all producers on the European market very thoroughly, and concluded quite quickly that only the isomasters doors would meet our demands.

Specifically selected door types

The industrial characteristics and the high loads of the materials in the production zones demand a careful selection of isothermal doors. Van Herreweghe’s experience convinced them that the doors should be of superior quality and that only the best materials could offer a long-term solution. Cheaper doors with door frames made of thin steel plates and recycled plastic could not meet the high standards required by our client. Selecting isomasters isothermal doors was therefore the obvious choice: the IPE sliding doors for refrigerated room come with a 1.5mm thick stainless steel door frame which is bent in one piece and fit to the wall panels with no interruptions. The sliding door leafs are also framed by bent stainless steel profiles (AISI 304) with a 2 millimetre thickness. The panels are finished with a CLEANsafe 304 stainless steel pinpoint coating. 20 sliding doors were installed of which 12 with a stainless steel tubular construction to allow for the transport of meat through tracks. Another 4 doors were automated. The doors open and close very light and quietly, and are installed on a ALU250 rail. A top-class reference.
Finally, polyethylene swing doors with door frames in stainless steel, automated high speed roll-up doors, insulated service doors (type BDD), and LFE small reach in doors  were provided to connect various zones.
